Concentrated cleaning changes the dose—not the need for care

What “concentrated” means

A concentrate contains active formulation components at a level intended to be diluted or used in a small measured dose. The word does not define one universal dilution ratio. A laundry, floor, kitchen or oxygen-based product may require very different use.

Using more than directed can increase residue, cost, exposure or surface damage without improving the result.

Read five label areas

1. Task: the intended soil, surface, textile or machine use.
2. Dose: amount, water volume and any adjustments for soil or water hardness.
3. Contact: application, contact time and rinsing instructions.
4. Compatibility: excluded materials, colourfastness or patch-test directions.
5. Safety: pictograms, signal word, precautionary statements, first aid and storage.

Do not improvise mixtures

Do not mix cleaning products unless the current label specifically instructs it. Combining acids, chlorine-releasing products, ammonia-containing products or other reactive formulations can create hazardous gases or reactions. Even products without a hazard pictogram should be used only as directed.

Oxygen-based products

“Oxygen-based” commonly describes materials that release active oxygen under use conditions. It does not mean the product is safe for every colour, fibre, finish or surface. Follow temperature, dose, compatibility and storage instructions, and keep moisture away from dry concentrates where required.

A narrower environmental comparison

Concentration may reduce packaging or transport per intended use, but the actual outcome depends on dose, packaging system, sourcing, manufacturing, transport, consumer behaviour and disposal. “Concentrated” should not be converted automatically into “eco-friendly”.
